Worship is our way of lifting praise to our God for all that He has done for us. But, as we do so, we also receive from God the blessing of His Spirit and His Word.
At GDLC, worship will be experienced with a more formal liturgy. The music will be a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary music.
We will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion each time we worship. As we move forward, we will be looking to our church family to participate in worship by reading Scripture, assisting with communion, and any other ways that are appropriate to our congregation
Music is important to us in worship. It is one way that we can express the joy and thanksgiving that we feel toward our God. Personally, I don't sing very well, but I love to sing praises to God -- so I sing loud and hope for the grace of those around me. :o)
During our worship times at GDLC, we will be using music that includes traditional hymns and contemporary music. This is called a blended service. While our liturgy is more formal, our music will be mixed. I know that some people only like traditional music and others only like contemporary music. But, since we are going to be a blended congregation, we must also be blended in our music.
My hope is that we can all be tolerant and accepting of others' taste in music and realize that the bottom line is that we are all praising and worshiping God -- and that is the most important part. :o)
